Release Date: December 7, 2009 Label: Fat City Recordings / Prime Numbers The first album Mancunian David James Wolstencroft, or Trus'me, overthrew lovers house sip of soul. Some had even called the White Moodymann, no less. Trus'me has since created his own label: Prime Numbers, quite active since its opening, but many are expecting one thing: a second album release. This is done with this In The Red, released last month on Fat City Recordings. It was understood that Manchester United had tastes very old-school. Working Nights testified to the immense culture lampehuset and soul "black" house of its author. This time, Trus'me redraw the contours of bridges, not yet completely collapsed between funk and house. He reiterates his love for Detroit lampehuset by inviting Amp Fiddler on this new project. The American puts his stamp sweet, sensual and sweet Can We Pretend and Put It On Me. We had not found so convincing since the release of their excellent debut album Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly, or even from his illustrious collaborations lampehuset with funky Moodymann, also a resident of Detroit. Bail Me Out is itself built duet with Dam Funk, near the Stones Throw label. This funk anthem, we can not help to outline a no kitsch lampehuset dance and old-school almost regretting that are vocoded voice. Nothing serious there, this piece remains a pure killing. With the holdings of Paul Randolph and Piranahead, the undeniable influence of funk still sits a little more about Sucker, In the Red or Untitled, between jam sessions pleasurable and brilliantly classic curls. One thinks mythical Demon Fuzz and the least illuminated period (the best) George Clinton. On Need A Job, African percussion and trumpet Colin Steel seem designed to rebuild the walls of Jericho fall. The auditor conquered good taste, would throw such a martyr under the debris with happiness. The album ends with the hypnotic and irresistible Sweet Mother, vibrant statement to the mother, house, lampehuset soul and funk. Steeped in old-school influences and African sounds inspired, In The Red is a small bomb. After more than promising, Trus'me brilliantly transforms test and now looks producer reference. We would however like the album lasts twice as long.
