From our perspective, as sellers emergency lights of Philips LED Lights , we're always keen to review what else is on the market. emergency lights Also, I shop at ALDI and I respect most of their product offerings... So would I buy their LEDs? LED Downlight Options - GU10 and MR16
MR16 Low-voltage LED ALDI Philips Dimmable No Yes Transformer Compatibility Unknown Wide Range - Confirmed emergency lights Lumen Output (Brightness) 320 Lm 380 - 400 Lm Colour Temperature 2700K 2700K, 3000K or 4000K Beam Angle 38 36 or 60 Rated Lifetime 25,000 hours 40,000 hours Warranty Not stated (1 Year?) 3 Year Philips Warranty Availability A few days per year In stock now, all year Price $7.99 Click here: Philips MR16 LED
Summary: The Philips MR16 LED option is much more likely to deliver a compatible and appropriate lighting solution. The Philips LED's are between 18 and 25% brighter than the ALDI option, they are dimmable emergency lights and compatible with the vast majority of existing transformers. Furthermore, we find that the most popular colour and beam angle is 3000K with a 60 beam. ALDI's narrow beam angle is not suitable in most homes and it's only available in one colour emergency lights temperature. GU10 Mains-voltage LED ALDI Philips Dimmable No Yes Lumen Output (Brightness) 320 Lm 370 - 415 Lm Colour Temperature 2700K 2700K, 3000K or 4000K Beam Angle 40 40 Rated Lifetime 25,000 hours 40,000 hours Warranty Not stated (1 Year?) 3 Year Philips Warranty Availability A few days per year In stock now, all year Price $7.99 Click here: Philips GU10 LED
Summary: emergency lights Although both GU10 options have the same beam angle (40 ), the Philips unit is considerably brighter (by 15 to 30%). Again, we find the most popular choice to be the 3000K colour option which is not offered by ALDI. LED Candle - E14 (Small Screw) & B15 (Small Bayonet)

Summary: Provided you do not need a dimmable globe the ALDI globes may be a compelling option in this case (given their very low price). Having said that - they avoid stating a lamp lifetime, which makes me think they won't last too long. LED Bulb Options - E27 (Screw) and B22 (Bayonet)
LED Bulb Features ALDI Bulbs Philips Bulbs Wattage 7W, 10W and 13W 7W, 8W, 10W, 12W and 13W Dimmable Yes Yes (Master globes) Lumen Output (Brightness) 470 to 1055 Lm 470 to 1055 Lm Colour Temperature 2700K 2700K (Master), 3000K (Regular) Rated Lifetime 25,000 hours 25,000 hours (Master), 15,000 hours (Regular) Warranty Not stated (1 Year?) 3 Year Warranty Availability A few days per year In stock now, all year Price $10.99 Click here: Philips LED Bulb (regular) or Philips Master LED (Dimmable)
Summary: This is the only LED light bulb that ALDI is selling as 'dimmable.' If they work as stated they are a fairly compelling option as well. The Philips Master LED does certainly offer a premium (better looking) alternative and the regular Philips option has received great reviews from customers for only a slightly higher price than ALDI (see the links above). So - Would I Buy ALDI LEDs?
In summary, I would not be tempted by the low prices on the downlights. In my experience most customers will require emergency lights a better or different solution for these lights. Our Philips LED Downlight is our hottest selling product despite it's higher price point. Many of our customers emergency lights have previously been burnt buying cheap LEDs elsewhere... On the other hand, the prices and specs on the regular Bulbs and Candle globes are probably low enough to risk trying them out.
I think ALDI is only really for you if you wish to chase the lowest price in the market, aren't concerned about warranty issues, and happen to be in store on the few days per year that they offer the LED Lights. Otherwise, I'd encourage you to consider our range. Apart from being an energy efficiency specialist emergency lights who can give you advice as well as products, we also back-up our quality claims by offering a 3 year warranty on all products. - Ryan McCarthy
