Spy Service NSA tried to spread the so-called malware to individuals computers that then could be used for spying. At the same time the EU adopts the sharp criticism of the case. 13. The American spy service NSA plan to infect computers around the world with a computer virus that set spies able to monitor and control people's Internet activities on an unprecedented scale.
The documents show that the NSA has long worked with a system that is otherwise mainly known from criminal circles. The system is called TURBINE, and has been in operation since 2010. System enables NSA able to infect a large number of computers with surveillance software that automatically configures itself to reap the data spies want. Wealth of sources of infection
The turbine system is highly automated and therefore intended for infecting millions of computers. The system is controlled from the U.S., UK and Japan and has, according to the leaked documents, been able to identify any specialized implants had to be put into people's computers in order to suck the maximum amount t10 of data out.
The system via such implants t10 put spies able to turn on the computer's microphone and webcam, and in this way intercept or shoot user without the user even noticing it. Gumfish and Foggybottom
Data is sent running back to the NSA, which has even named the individual implants quite creative. The software that allows spies access to webcams so called GUMFISH while FOGGYBOTTOM gathers surf history, passwords and login data to the user's Facebook account, email and more. Grok monitors what you type on the keyboard.
It is uncertain how many machines that have been infected with this technique, t10 but has Intercept The other documents from Edward Snowden, which indicates that the number t10 may be about 100,000, although the system is scaled to handle many more.
The revelations are Turbine System is the latest addition in a now quite daunting variety of revelations from whistleblower Edward Snowden, who for over ten months ago started to leak internal documents t10 from the American spy service. Snowden lives today temporarily in Russia. Large EU majority of criticism
In Denmark, the Danish government remained subdued with the revelations of the extensive espionage network users, but within the EU EU parliament yesterday by a vote of 544 for and 78 against adopting a report from the House Committee on civil liberties, which contained a sharp criticism of the NSA and a number of recommendations for further action against espionage.
These include the cancellation of a number of data exchange agreements, temporary suspension of negotiations t10 on a new trade agreement with the United States, as well as recommendation on rapid adoption of a new regulatory framework with strong data protection rules. In addition, the Committee recommends to work out a strategy for how to become less dependent on the U.S. IT products.
Jens Rohde and Anne E. Jensen, both Liberals, were only Danes among the few MPs who voted against the criticism of the NSA. Share this article: Mail Twitter Facebook Print Share article: t10 Mail Twitter Facebook
